Project Five:
Deadpool and Wolverine Movie Campaign
Marvel has not seen the same success since the release of Avengers: Endgame. Many fans feel fatigued by Marvel, claiming that the studio has focused more on family-friendly projects with the overall consensus being quantity over quality. Recent shows and movies have been criticized for poor character selection and development, weak and unexciting plot lines, and poor writing.
Millennials make-up the majority of Marvel fans, with many of these fans having grown up watching the MCU transform from Iron Man all the to Endgame. But, now that they're older, they want to MCU to grow with them and introduce more mature and darker themes that match their age. These fans have taken interest in DC’s recent Batman movie, Amazon’s The Boys, and Joaquin Phoenix’s, The Joker, all of which explore darker and mature themes.
The Deadpool franchise has captivated audiences because of its raunchy, gory, comedic, and adult themes, along with Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds. This campaign is meant to reinvest these fatigued millennial Marvel fans and get them hyped for the highly anticipated Deadpool and Wolverine movie. Both the campaign and movie are meant to show fans that Marvel is not holding back, that they have listened to their fans and will grow with them just as they grew with Marvel.
For this project, I did all the creative elements, from idea to execution. I used tools like Midjourney, Procreate, and Canva to execute my vision for the campaign.
